The primary objective of this project was to improve the management of floodwaters originating from Lake Alice on the University of Florida’s campus without disrupting the flow of existing utilities. Our team constructed a 4′ x 10′ box culvert beneath the Radio Road Roundabout to accommodate these flowing waters and enable existing utilities to pass through untouched. Since this project was situated in the middle of a bustling campus and required the complete shutdown of a major thoroughfare, our team’s careful design of a MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) plan and constant attention to safety were paramount to our success.
