Oelrich Construction was selected as the construction manager-at-risk for the Lake County Animal Shelter project. The project will include a welcoming public reception area; flexible administrative office areas; enclosed sally ports to aid in the handling of animals; multi-function meeting/training rooms; secure animal intake/receiving areas; space for examination, adoption, and grooming functions; animal kennels for adoption and strays; animal kennels for quarantine and routine observation; and clinic spaces. The new facility is a major component of Lake County’s commitment to being a “No Kill” animal shelter. Thanks to the visionary efforts of County staff, commissioners, volunteers, and community advocates, Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) and Live Release Rates (LRR) have increased substantially in recent months.
