The Donald Ralph Cooke School was a brand new facility for young boys to participate in school. The first new classroom edifice constructed on the main campus in 30 years, this 10,000 square foot structure was dedicated on March 13, 2009. The building is a reinforced concrete and masonry structure with a trussed roof and front entry portico. The interior spaces are mainly classroom areas with support spaces for teaching staff and a common space for other building functions. Other site improvements were incorporated to provide parking, stormwater management, and more. We completed this project ahead of schedule.
Although the Cooke School is geared toward young adolescent education, all of the school’s students live onsite in dormitory-style facilities adjacent to the construction site. This building also had an accelerated schedule to accommodate the beginning of school in accordance with the county’s school calendar.
