In an infill lot in East Gainesville, we constructed this building for the Alachua County Fire Rescue Department to operate rescue vehicles 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This reinforced concrete and masonry structure features a complete parking area, approach drives for the fire engine company, an emergency generator, and mechanical systems necessary to provide full automation with the HVAC controls system. MEPF systems included heavy exhaust hoods and complete fire protection.
The first LEED Silver fire rescue station in Florida, this project included a rain water collection system, solar system to provide all hot water, waterless urinals, and solar tube lighting.
