Oelrich Construction Wins ABC Central Florida Excellence in Construction Eagle Award for Chi University Small Animal Hospital Project
Oelrich Construction Inc. is honored to announce its recent achievement in winning the prestigious ABC Central Florida Excellence in Construction (EIC) Eagle Award in the $5-$10 million Healthcare category. This recognition was awarded for the successful completion of the Chi University Small Animal Hospital in Reddick, Florida—a 9,600-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility designed to support advanced veterinary care and holistic healing for small animals.
Completed in 2023, this innovative hospital reflects our commitment to quality and precision in healthcare construction. As the Construction Manager-at-Risk, our team faced a rapidly shifting market during 2022, requiring adaptability and strategic Value Engineering solutions to maintain budget and meet all deadlines. These solutions included the proactive management of critical long-lead packages, such as storefront systems, doors, frames, and exterior finishes, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of this complex project.
Designed to enhance the well-being of animals and provide a calming environment for caregivers, the Chi University Small Animal Hospital features ten exam rooms, a centralized treatment area, two procedure rooms, a peaceful Zen Garden, a dedicated grieving room, and expansive indoor and outdoor rehabilitation spaces. It is also equipped with a comprehensive X-ray suite and administrative offices to streamline operations and improve the care experience for all visitors.
Our project team’s efforts resulted in an impressive facility that aligns with Chi University’s mission and values. Oelrich Construction collaborated with 18 subcontractors and suppliers, including ABC Central Florida members Acousti, CT Mechanical, Southern Foam Insulation, and Steel Fabricators, to bring this vision to life.
