Rustam started his career in the construction industry by working with a local subcontractor on residential projects. With time, he decided to switch to commercial construction by pursuing his education in construction management at the University of Florida. In addition to attending school and working part-time, he was heavily involved with the UF Building Information Modeling (BIM) team, gaining experience working with Revit, Navisworks, and Vico. As a note of interest, he was captain of the UF BIM team for one year.
Rustam joined the Oelrich Construction team as a project engineer, working with our project manager during preconstruction, construction, and post construction phases. As his commercial construction knowledge has grown, he has become more involved with bid administration and estimate preparation for various projects and clients.
Rustam's experience with BIM helps him to work with design teams to create conceptual budgets and control costs during design and construction, and deliver an as-built model with closeout documents.
